Meet the Doula

Hi, I’m Alyssa.

A Registered Nurse, Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, and Doula. But maybe even more important than a list of credentials - I am a mother.

I have been immersed in the birthing world since 2015. Over the past ten years, I’ve worked as a Labor & Delivery nurse, served as a college Nursing Instructor teaching Obstetrics, and experienced the transformative journey of becoming a mother to two children. I have also walked through infertility and miscarriage, seasons that deepened my compassion and strengthened my desire to support families through every chapter of their story.

During my second pregnancy, an even deeper passion was sparked within me to nurture and empower moms and babies through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond. I realized that birth is beautiful and can even be enjoyable! The unmedicated birth of my son is something that I would experience over and over again, given the chance.

Although I no longer attend births in a clinical capacity, that part of my mind and heart hasn’t faded. My nursing background gives me a unique ability to understand medical terminology, explain the labor process clearly, provide detailed information about potential interventions, and “read the room.” I can interpret subtle cues—looks of concern, quiet conversations—and help you communicate confidently with your providers in their language. I offer reassurance, clarity, and evidence-based insight when you need it most.

My role now is to partner with you—to help you feel informed, empowered, and supported as you plan the birth you desire. I will walk alongside you emotionally, physically, and educationally through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Consider me your “Birth Bestie”—someone who holds space for you, advocates with you, and believes deeply in your ability to do this.

I am trained through DONA International and am finalizing my certification with them.

  • Alyssa was our Doula this winter and she knocked it out of the park. I would not have managed labor without her support and guidance. Her labor & delivery experience sets her above others and the level of care and compassion she showed postpartum was much appreciated. 10/10 would recommend!"

  • "Alyssa was amazing and so helpful through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum! This was our first child and the amount we learned from her was incredible. Can’t recommend Alyssa enough!"

  • "Alyssa was the nurse beside us when I birthed my first, and even then she sure made us feel like she was our doula too! She was so patient and supportive then when my water (finally) broke her demeanor was calm and confident. It was very evident that her doula instincts are natural and she did it WHILE caring for us medically. She’s amazing! I am forever grateful she was with us back then, and can’t recommend her enough. Families would be lucky to have her by their side!"
